Kincardine Tennis Club Charter
The Kincardine Tennis Club is a non-profit
organization that was formed in the early 1960's. Our primary role is to act as an
agent for the Town of Kincardine who has empowered the tennis club to
operate under the authority of the Recreation Department. As such, we
administer the day to day operation of the tennis club facilities
including the tennis programs offered within the community. All of this
is accomplished on a no cost basis using the skill sets of seasoned
tennis players who volunteer their skills and expertise as a community
service.
The Town of Kincardine is the registered owner the
tennis court property. Membership fees are levied to club members to
fund the operation and maintenance of the courts. Over the years, the
tennis club has been responsible for all of the routine operating
and maintenance costs of the facility on a no cost basis to the town.
Tennis club funds are also pooled within our operating budget to execute
various capital projects as required (e.g. court resurfacing, new
lighting, etc). When significant capital expenditures are required that
are beyond the capability of the club, then we will partner with the
town through the normal budget approval process to see these projects
proceed on a share cost basis.
The tennis club's ultimate goal is to ensure that a
healthy and thriving tennis program is available to the
community. |
